A Simple Question:
Who would you vote for in the upcoming Presidential Election if given the opportunity? Why? What issues do you see as most important and what why do you like one candidates position over the others on that issue(s)?

- Wants to end "pork barrel" spending
- Wants to reduce entitlements (government give-aways)
- Is probably the best representative of what main stream America wants.
- Will responsibly end the war in Iraq. He is committed to staying so that there is not a civil war like the one in Darfur.
- He is for affordable health care, not Socialized medicine
I think that obama is a scary guy. One week he will say one thing the next he will the complete oposite. The only reason people are voting for him is because he is promising both sides of an argument when not promising anything at all.
MCAIN 2008
I think McCain would make a great leader except, do we want another George Bush in office. I'm war in Georgia give it a rest.

OBAMA ROX!!!
-CAELAN JONES
why obama do you just like him or do you have a real reason
I am for McCain. He isn't anything really special, I will admit, but Obama is even worse. He can say anything he wants, and the media will give him a free ride. If McCain had screwed up in his speeches or said some of the things Obama has said, the media would be all over it in a second. Obama hasn't really told us anything. He has only made vague statements saying that he is for "change", whatever that means. He is just your average, fill-in-the-blank canidate, because he hasn't really taken a stand on anything, except the classic, "bring the troops home" promise. People just imagine that he is what they want.

We need Obama in office because we need to end the war in Iraq. McCain plans to stay in Iraq 100 years if need be. Also McCain flip flops over our economy. One day it is good ,the next day he will say it is bad. Finally Obama will make new jobs and keep us out of a war with Russia!
Brian Farnand- Obama 08
If need be, then I think we SHOULD stay in Iraq. Also, please tell me how he's planning on making new jobs. By the way, did you know that Obama has a brother in Africa who has to live on one dollar a month? Obama isn't even willing to toss the poor guy a $20 bill. It's his brother ! Obama is all about show, and looking really kind. If he did something for his brother, it wouldn't be that special, because everyone should take care of their brother. So, he just leaves him to suffer, because he doesn't really care about anyone but himself. He does these things for reputation, not of of love.
Oh sorry, that last post was by me, Michael Baxter. I forgot to put my name.

Obama needs to win the election because.
1. Joe biden is MUCH better than sarah Palin.
2. We need to get out of Iraq.
3. We need to get out of this economic crisis not get farther into it.
4.Do you really want another George bush in office?... i didn't think so...
5. We need to get away from our dependence on foreign oil, drilling won't help, solar, wind, and nuclear power will.
6. Helping the rich won't help the poor. Trickle down economics DOESN'T WORK.
All these things are good about Obama and bad about McCain, but there are countless others as well.
-Neil Stalter
And im not Tommy Davis...
that's the kind of thing republicans are great at doing Michael, picking a stupid issue that has nothing to do with the election. U answered why he isn't giving his brother money in your comment, he lives in africa! Anyway, Obama talks about issues rather than being a maverick.
woooooooow u guys r lame seriously tho do we really need another year of stupid desicions made by the republicans?? they call john mccain a maverick buthes really just a george bush wannabe. if he really cared about this nation, he would make his own desicion instead of following this bubba gump of a prez we hav now. obama in 08

Will Simkins says:
I don't love Obama, but he's much better than McCain and voting for someone else would be just throwing away your vote.
Seriously though, Palin is scary. Here's a quote taken from an interview, "I'll try to find you some and I'll bring them to you." --Sarah Palin, asked by Katie Couric to cite specific examples of how John McCain has pushed for more regulation in his 26 years in the Senate, CBS interview, Sept. 24, 2008
Hey guys, I'm not here to make fun of you democrats or try to put you down, so please return the favor. Also, my point with Obama's brother were these two things:
1. Obama is all about show. He only wants to do good things if people know about them. He didn't think people knew about his brother, so he doesn't help him.
2. He doesn't really care. If he isn't willing to take care of his own brother, why would he care about our country? Sadly, politicians these days (McCain included) seem only to want power, and not what is best for our country.
-Michael Baxter
obama is so wacked out he would be voted most crazy in an insane asylum, he should not be tha prez.
McCain, on the other hand is a dope old man. He could do great things and not let this country be the communist state obama envisions. Go McCain, the dope sugar daddy fo shiznit home dogg. Peace out $$$$
let obama kill the nation, im moving to canada, ur all screwed!!
Nick G: Obama wants to raise taxes on citizens to get money for the government. McCain wants to lower taxes on citizes like Joe the Plumber(haha) because we are in a financial crisis. Who would you pick? Obviously McCain.
Vote McCain 08
vote obama... if you want to kill our whole country - A very wise 8th grader
I say McCain just because of taxes and Iraq. McCain wants to finish the war and not leave the Iraqis out in the cold to start a civil war. McCain also wants to have tax cuts, not the take all the "rich people"'s money and give it to "Joe the Plumber" as Obama likes to call the working class. all im saying is McCain should be prez. If you cant agree with me on that you can atleast agree with me on one Subject...
$EAMUS KELLY 4 CLASS OFFICER!!!
VOTE $EAMUS KELLY

oooo yeaaaaaaaaaa
-C@e Jone$
Well, most of you guys are wrong about the taxes. Anyone making under $250,000 dollars will not get their taxes raised, actually, they'll be lowered for them. An i wasn't trying to put anyone down with my comments, i was just trying to make a point. McCain doesn't want to end the war, he wants to use the surge plan and send MORE troops to iraq when we should be taking troops from iraq.
-Neil Stalter
haha mccain wants to put more troops in iraq, thats a laugh. i guess he never saw the bring back our troops stickers or any of that . and since we all know mccain is gonna die of old age when AND IF he gets in the white house so ask yourselves this......do you seriously want sarah palin to run this country??? the woman who asked what the bush doctrine was and believes she's up with foreign policies because "she can see russia from her house"????? didnt think so.
-the voice of the truth (cae jones)
It's kind of scary the McCain arguments are better than the Obama ones. McCain won the school election, because, as Mr. Ruppert said, we are a conservative school. However, McCain doesn't really stand a chance come Tuesday and I am glad this is true.
Having said that, I am for Obama for several reasons.
1)My parents are liberal: I know some of you may think this is stupid, but this is a big reason you are going for your candidate too.(And the reason why most of you are catholic and I am an atheist)
2) I like te idea of redistribution of wealth: Yes I AM A SOCIALIST, ridicule it all you like, but I truly believe that rich people are rich not on their own merit, but because of who their parents are. If you were orn to a starving family like most people are than you would never become rich. Therefore, I don't believe that how much money people has should depend on luck.
And finally
3) I do not want another republican leading the country: Of course this is a matter of opinion, but I believe that since Lincoln there has not been a single could republican president. But you know who HAVE been good presidents. JFK and FDR for example (gotta love the initials)were great presidents. Even Clinton was much better than Bush has been.
These are the reasons I am for Obama, feel free to disagree.
Will Simkins
Will, i agree with you on most things you said in your comment, but good i don't think you can legitimately say there hasn't been a good republican president since Lincoln. That's pretty much saying there has only been one 1 good republican president since the beginning of the party. Most of you know that I am a liberal democrat. But i think there have been good republican presidents too. Ronald Reagan for example.
-Neil Stalter
Obama says he wants to make change does any one here know how he expects to do that?
-Jarrod Czapranski
We need new leading parties. McCain isn't that great and Obama isn't either. Obama seems kinda socialist and McCain's vice president isn't good at all.
oh sorry that was me Jarrod Czapranski........not tomy davis....
About the war in Iraq. I think that if necessary we should stay there as long as need be. We shouldn't leave them without a government or in a state of anarchy or civil war. So if McCain wants us to stay in there for "100 years", we might as well take care of it now while we can rather than later. Things won't change in Iraq over a few years. The quicker we fix the problem the quicker we get our soldiers home, but if we take the troops out early we might have to come back later and start all over again.
-Jarrod Czapranski
Gentlemen,
I appreciate the spirit and intellectual rigor of your debate. In the end, you guys are on the path to being active and involved citizens...be liberal...be conservative...be not apathetic!!! To me that is gratifying...and don't let me stop the chatter from moving forward eventually into the eventual start of President-elect Obama's term of office. Heck, by the end of the school year, he will have been President for 4 months plus...as we'll see with FDRs 1st 100 days in office, a lot can happen quickly...stay tuned and keep offering your well thought out 2 cents!!!
Mr. Ruppert
¿wait is the blog over?
the blogs not over but it probibly will be soon. im glad Obama won because we need to loose our addiction to forghen oil and to pull out of Iraq because of all the government spending to fight a war that is getting us no where. on the other hand we do have to many people that are on wellfare for no reason other than lazyness
